At Eagle Valley Youth Ranch, our philosophy encourages families to open up and begin working together. Often the family’s relationship has been strained physically and emotionally. Both you and your teen have become discouraged to the point of hopelessness. You may feel discouraged lacking the skills to communicate with your teen. We work with the families and the teens providing teen help to develop effective communications in order for the families to become functional and congruent.
Your teen has sought out friends and peers that are foreign to your family’s values and beliefs in an effort to be accepted. Our goals are to teach your teen to revisit the beliefs that were taught at your home. We want to work toward reunification of your child and family providing teen parent help. This begins with the steps of communications with you and your child. Family therapy begins with your teen’s individual therapy. Then, we work with you and your child in family therapy off the campus and on campus. We may work with you on campus using the Equine Assisted Therapy (EAP). Sometimes the use of a horse and it’s own personality provides the family with a different approach and perspective in viewing the family dynamics.
We encourage the parents to do their own work at home in preparation for when your teen returns. Your daughter will have a different perspective of life and a new way of communicating. It is your job to do your own work to be able to communicate with your child at this new level of meta communication.
